An Caitin Dubh Yarn Advent Calendar - 2026 - Installments

It's the yarn advent calendar!

This is the installment plan option; you'll be charged the amount shown four times in total, on the same day every month.

This year we're burrowing into the fallen leaves, admiring the glistening frost, tiptoeing past the hibernators and keeping our eyes peeled for the first hint of spring. It's Cats In The Winter Garden!

Expect soft ochres and sages, heathery purples, faded rose and icy blues, with a mixture of semi-solid and some very subtle variegation. You'll unwrap a slowly-emerging rainbow.

There are 25 mini-skeins in each calendar, individually wrapped and labelled.

The packaging is all recyclable. I try to keep it as minimal as possible while also fun for you to unwrap (and for me to put together). Each day has its own sticker and ball-band design and colourway name.

As well as the yarn you'll find a pawful of little crafty extras scattered throughout the calendar.

The yarns advents shown here are from previous years. This year will be different.

Yarn options

Wool yarns

4-ply wool - this is a springy, bouncy, sturdy wool with a bit of crunch and character. (80m in each 20g skein)

DK wool - like the 4ply, but bigger! (40m in each 20g skein)

4-ply sleek merino (organic) - this is a smooth, sleek merino with a gentle shine and a bit of drape. (80m in each 20g skein)

DK merino (organic) - a soft merino yarn with a lovely drape. (45m in each 20g skein)

Non-wool yarns

Alpaca/silk/cashmere - new this year! - utterly lush, soft yarn with a gentle halo. (80m in each 20g skein)

Camel silk - as soft as buttery kitten-bellies, and glows like moonlight. (80m in each 20g skein)

Patterns

Every yarn calendar comes with two patterns. You'll be able to choose any one of my patterns designed for advent calendars, plus one pattern designed for making the most of your scraps. I'll be in touch with details about the patterns available and the yarns & colour combinations they suit.

The new patterns for this year will be

• The Catmiration Shawl - subtly-catty gentle lace and texture, loads of fun to knit, wear it as a floaty shawl or an epic wraparound scarf or just let your cat nest into it. (They deserve it.)
• Deskscraps - a set of little bowls and holders, which will work with any weight of yarn, will be purrfect for nomming up your scraps, and will be perfect for keeping your stitchmarkers, needles and other little bits and bobs in order.

Extras

Add on a project bag and enamel pin in a new-for-advent catty design, or go for the whole adventstravaganza, and get the stitchmarker calendar as well. This year, expect soft shades and garden creatures as well as - of course! - plenty of cats.

If you add the stitchmarker calendar I'll be in touch nearer the time to check which style of markers you'd like.

Extra skeins

The contrast this year will be a pale warm grey. You can add extra skeins now if you like. There'll also be a chance to add or remove them from your order in September, when you might have more of an idea what you're planning to make.
