Catvent information - 2025

Hey there! I've tried to answer all the questions you might have here - but I'm sure I've missed a few. If there's anything you're still wondering about please let me know - marna@caitinbeag.com

Changes this year

Paying in installments

Yarn bases

VAT & customs

EU customers

US customers

I did a little bit of customer research, and asked last year's Catventeers what worked  and what didn't. (Thank you SO MUCH, everyone who answered!) The general consensus was that things are working pretty well, but I'm making a few little changes, and they include;

 - yarn bands will have some useful info (like, yarn information) as well as silly cat drawings
 - I'm going to bag up the boxes as a little extra insurance against the wrath of the Postage Gods
 - I'm trialling five- and ten-big-skein options as well as the traditional twenty-five-baby-skeins option.
 - there'll be a little opt-in mailing list for having a peek behind-the-scenes (no spoilers) so you can track your advent calendar from spreadsheet to doorstep.
 - as well as the periodic what's-happening emails there'll be a single page that I'll keep updated with timeline and links
 - I will include pictures of my cat ATK in every communication because apparently you're all really just here for the Cat Tax.

The installment options let you split the cost over four months. Payment is taken on the same day every month. You'll get an email a few days ahead of time to let you know that the payment is imminent.

If you need to change your payment date, defer your payment or skip a month please drop me an email - marna@caitinbeag.com. I can sort that out very easily.

If you have a discount code that discount will be applied to all your installment payments.

There are a lot of yarn options! If you're stuck choosing I have a limited number of little sample packs. Drop me an email (marna@caitinbeag.com) to request one.

The instalment options should include VAT, so you should not get any doorstep surprises or delays. Your advent calendar will also be delivered in instalments and so shipping is slightly more expensive to allow for this, but you’ll avoid any customs handling charges or delays.

The pay-all-at-once options do not include VAT, so you’ll have to pay that at the point of delivery, along with any handling charges that may get applied.

If you add anything else to your cart I may not be able to collect and pay tax on your behalf - there's a transaction limit of e150 (before VAT and shipping) for me doing this. If you're not sure, look at the check out page. If VAT is added to your order it should say 'Including eXX in taxes' as in the screenshot below. If you need help with this please email me - marna@caitinbeag.com - and we can figure out the best way to do things.

I have absolutely no idea if you'll have to pay customs charges on your order, and if so how much they'll be. I'm sorry. It's chaos right now! I think that, with a package from the UK, you'll have to pay a maximum of a 10% customs charge, and it's very possible that there won't be any extra charges on your parcel.

If you order your calendar now and find that, come September, things have changed, and there's going to be a high charge levied on your parcel I'll sort out a refund at that point.
