Advent Calendar Kit - The Carousel Catdigan - 2026 - Installments

This is the installment plan option; you'll be charged the amount shown four times in total, on the same day every month.

2023's catvent pattern was the Cheery Colourwork Catty Carousel Catvent Catdigan.

It’s a fitted cardigan with a carousel (and cat) inspired yoke, plus some colourwork sparkles at the wrist and hem. I love those little colourwork flourishes at the end; they’re a reward for all that stocking stitch along the way and always get me off sleeve island that little bit faster.

The cardigan is steeked, but if you don’t want to steek there are instructions for making yourself a flat-knit version and for knitting a sweater. You’ll be able to choose whether you want a shaped or straight waist, and there’ll be all the usual help for tweaking the cardigan to fit you. And, of course, the usual wide spread of sizes.

This is a 4ply-knit cardigan. Watching the rainbow emerge, and the promise of some hem and cuff colourwork sparkles, will help the knitting just whizz by.

The kit contains;

• 25 mini-skeins. Each skein will be labelled and wrapped. The packaging will all be recyclable, and as minimal as I can make it while still keeping the yarn a secret and the unwrapping fun.
• 2 x 100gr contrast skeins - one in soft silver and one in a grey-black.
• the cardigan pattern, plus a second scrap-friendly pattern of your choice
• plus little crafty extras scattered throughout the calendar, including an extra-special extra for Christmas day.

Yarn options

Wool yarns

4-ply wool - this is a springy, bouncy, sturdy wool with a bit of crunch and character. (80m in each 20g skein)

4-ply sleek merino (organic) - this is a smooth, sleek merino with a gentle shine and a bit of drape. (80m in each 20g skein)

Non-wool yarns

Alpaca/silk/cashmere - new this year! - utterly lush, soft yarn with a gentle halo. (80m in each 20g skein)

Camel silk - as soft as buttery kitten-bellies, and glows like moonlight. (80m in each 20g skein)

Colours

This year we're burrowing into the fallen leaves, admiring the glistening frost, tiptoeing past the hibernators and keeping our eyes peeled for the first hint of spring. It's Cats In The Winter Garden!

Expect soft ochres and sages, heathery purples, faded rose and icy blues, with a mixture of semi-solid and some very subtle variegation. You'll unwrap a slowly-emerging rainbow.

The yarn shown isn't the yarn that will be in the calendar - that would ruin the surprise. It's the last several  years advent dyes.
