Signups

Signups will stay open for the whole year, so don’t feel rushed to sign up. No FOMO-fuelled decisions here!

If you choose the digital-only option you can upgrade to the extras later on, and pay just the difference in price.

I'll also have the yarn available to buy as individual skeins (although there'll be a limit on how much I have available, and I may not have all bases). 

Signups are only on caitinbeag.com right now, but once we're up and running I can add the pattern to your Ravelry library.

How it will work

When you sign up you’ll get a welcome PDF. (There’ll be a cat picture in it.) You'll get seven updates to the PDF over the year - six with block patterns, and one final one with all the making-up and border instructions. (SORRY but you will need to do this to get a blanket at the end!)

The block pattern updates will each have one easy, gentle octie - nice relaxing colourwork - and one more complicated octie. It's up to you whether you knit one of each or stick just to the gentle or spicy side. There'll also be a couple of square / half-square patterns in each update. These will all be nice gentle knitting. 

Each update will also include a little mini-pattern for something non-blankety to do with your octies and squares.

The pattern update schedule is something like:

  • Mid January: Getting ready! Swatching and stash-diving, and a little intro to all the techniques you'll need.
  • Mid February: Octies 1 & 2.
  • Start of April: Octies 3 & 4.
  • Mid May: Octies 5 & 6.
  • Start of July: Octies 7 & 8.
  • Mid August: Octies 9 & 10.
  • Start of October: Octies 11 & 12.
  • Start of November: Sewing up, border, finishing.

The options

Digital-only: You’ll get all the pattern updates, plus access to the Discord server.

Goodies package:  As well as the digital-only bits, you’ll get a parcel before the big cast on with a nice little selection of exclusive catty goodies, including a project bag, pin and stitchmarkers.

Goodies & yarn package: Everything in the digital-only option, plus the catty goodies and all the yarn you'll need to knit the blanket.

The installments

There are a few different ways to get your yarn for the blanket.


Yarn up front - one big package right at the start, with all the yarn you'll need to make the blanket. This option keeps shipping costs to a minimum.

Yarn split over three packages - this is a three-part subscription, with payment taken and a package delivered every three months (January, April, and July). Each package's value is low enough that I can collect the VAT for you if you're in the EU, so no doorstep surprises or handing fees.

The extras will be included in the first package if you choose either of the subscriptions.

I am totally open to also offering the yarn as a six-weekly subscription to coincide with each pattern release - if this is something you'd like please let me know - marna@caitinbeag.com - and I'll set it up.

Gifting (aka getting someone else to knit your cat a blanket)

This makes a great gift! If you're getting this for someone else please choose the GIFT option when you're purchasing it, and I'll be in touch to sort out getting it to your recipient.
