I pass a big lavender bush between home and work, and it’s the summer highlight of my tiny commute. It’s loud with humming and I always pause to watch the bees - so many bees! - moving from spike to spike, filling their little saddlebags with pollen before setting off home to their hive.
And we’re following them home! Hive is a silky, fluffy exploration of honeycombs glistening with goodness and baby bees emerging from their waxy little cells.
In 2022 I'm greeting every season with a shawl surprise - and here's the second one! It's knitted in a 100% silk yarn and a floofy laceweight mohair, and plays with the lovely contrasts in texture between the two yarns.
