Sometimes I just need a little comfort-knit; no complicated stitches, just the steady rhythm of the stitches grounding me. This is a good knit for times of upheaval and uncertainty.
This is also a knit for better times; perfect for knitting gatherings, train adventures, cricket matches, house parties and nightclubs. (I knit some of this shawl while out clubbing: fact! I ended up talking about knitting to many curious, random, slightly baffled people.)
It’s a really simple knit. It’s mostly just knitting - and purling - across ever-increasing rows, with a little bit of excitement when a new stripe appears.
It’s also a very forgiving knit. Don’t worry about stitch counts (although they’re provided if you do want to count) - one missed increase won’t make any difference to this shawl.
This shawl is one size - but it’s very easy to make it larger or smaller, and guidance is provided.
If you’re knitting it with the ruffle you’ll need 4 x 100g skeins of 4-ply - two in each colour. If you leave the ruffle (and the rather epic bind-off out you’ll need just one in each shade.
