In 2022 I'm planning to greet every season with a shawl surprise - and here's the first one. It's knitted in a 100% silk yarn and a floofy laceweight mohair, and plays with the lovely contrasts in texture between the two yarns.
Twig and Bug is about that glorious transition from bare, wintery twigs to buds, baby leaves and blossom. It's not a difficult knit - just a little easy lace and texture to keep you engaged.
I've dyed up two special colourways for this one:
Through the Fog is pale and cool and moody - early spring morning, before the sun's made any impression on the frozen air.
Snow and Crocuses has gentle flashes of spring green and crocus purple - and even a hint of speckle.
Kits contain all of the yarn you'll need (one skein each of mulberry silk and a fluffy mohair-silk), some springtime stitchmarkers, a pattern download and an optional handmade sterling silver shawl pin designed especially for this shawl.
The kits will be posted out in mid-January, and the pattern will be released on February 1st. (You may think this is winter still but I claim that spring starts in February.)
